Tom Rogic and Celtic secured an important Champions League victory overnight, defeating Belgians RSC Anderlecht 3-0 away from home.

Leigh Griffiths followed up his Old Firm Derby sealer at the weekend with another strike to give the Hoops a 38th-minute lead.

On-loan attacker Patrick Roberts made it two five minutes after the interval before Scott Sinclair made the points absolutely secure in injury time.

Three points helped the Glasgow club up to joint second in Group B, level on points with second-placed Bayern Munich who they face at Allianz Arena next matchday.

The 3-0 win also cut down Celtic’s poor goal difference of -5, brought up after PSG drubbed them 5-0 at Parkhead on opening night.

Rogic started the match and was withdrawn after 65 minutes of action.

The attacking-midfielder was named in Ange Postecoglou’s 23-man squad on Monday for regional World Cup qualifiers against Syria next fortnight.
