Anthony Martial believes Manchester United and France teammate Paul Pogba is set to claim the Ballon d’Or within the next five years.
Pogba has made a strong start in his second season after returning to Old Trafford last summer – scoring goals in consecutive 4-0 victories over West Ham and Swansea City.
And Martial believes if the 24-year-old continues that sort of form he is sure to be noticed.
“I would say he is probably the best midfield player in the world,” Martial told MUTV in a documentary about Pogba soon to be released.
“Paul is very mentally strong and he is very sure of himself.
“He is a big guy, he is very technical on the ball and he has lots of endurance.
“He is still young, too, so he has a lot to work on and he can get even better.
“If he continues to play and improve like he is doing then I think he is also going to win the Ballon d’Or award in the next five years.”
Pogba faced plenty of criticism during the course of last season following his then world record move from Juventus – displaying mixed form throughout the campaign.
Neymar is now the world’s most expensive having joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona earlier this summer.
