Aaron Mooy and Huddersfield Town were dealt their first Premier League defeat as they visited West Ham United overnight.
In need of a win, a desperate Irons led by manager Slaven Bilic found the three points they craved.
It was their first points of the season, while for Huddersfield, it was points dropped for the first team and likewise goals conceded.
A five-minute burst late in the second half saw goals from Pedro Obiang and Andre Ayew, and those proved enough for the Londoners to defeat the Terriers 2-0 at the Olympic Stadium.
Mooy once again completed the full 90 minutes for Town, who will face Leicester City at John Smith’s Stadium next weekend.
Meanwhile, former Melbourne Victory whizkid Sebastian Pasquali was not selected in Jong Ajax’s matchday squad for their clash against Waalwijk.
The 17-year-old made it onto the bench last weekend.
