The win leaves the Villans needing just one more win to return to the Premier League after a two-season absence.
They take on Fulham on Saturday with the winner gaining promotion back to their former stomping ground.
Elsewhere, Ryan Williams and Rotherham United beat out fellow Aussie Cameron Burgess and Scunthorpe United to seal their place in the League One play-off.

A 2-0 win on the night was enough for the Millers to secure their berth at Wembley as they push for a return to the second division.
