The gang had the pleasure of speaking to Herald Sun football writer Matt Windley on the Daily Football Show.
Dominating the discussion was Saturday night’s first Melbourne Derby of the season, with Victory taking the spoils thanks to late winner from Besart Berisha.
Despite defeat in the derby, Windley believes the fightback from Melbourne City could be a watershed moment in the history of the clash, showing that they won’t be bullied and brushed aside anymore.
Aaron Mooy and Robi Koren were two players who he focused on in particular, while for Victory young gun Thomas Deng and Oliver Bozanic were touched on in great detail.
All of the A-League’s other matches were discussed at length, with Windley praising the form of Brisbane Roar and on the other hand bemoaning the state of affairs at Perth Glory.
Plenty of engaging conversation between Mark van Aken, Adrian Houghton and Windley to fill your A-League football appetite.
