Liverpool forward Mo Salah says he is fully focused on helping the side claim European glory, instead of focusing on his personal accolades.
Salah scored again over the weekend in the Reds’ 3-0 victory over Bournemouth to bring up his 40th goal of the season across all competitions.
And Salah says winning the Champions League is a big goal in any player’s dreams, as he prepares to take on former side AS Roma in the final four of the competition.
“It is a great feeling, of course it is a great feeling, but in the end I am just happy to score and help the team,” the Egypt international told reporters.
“If I had a choice between the Champions League and the Golden Boot, then of course it would be the Champions League, no doubt the Champions League.
“To win the Champions League is huge for everyone. I don’t care about the rest.”
On the personal front, Salah looks set to claim this year’s Premier League Golden Boot, having scored 30 goals to date with Harry Kane next best on 25.
And Salah admits the award is in the back of his mind.
“I cannot lie – it is in my mind. But you can see with the team, everyone tries to pass the ball to me to help me,” he said.
“I am also sure that Tottenham’s players try to help Harry Kane and also Manchester City’s try to help Sergio Aguero.
“It’s like that but, in the end, we play as a team.”
