Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Erbel has ruled his side out of the running to sign Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Eberl is quoted as saying: Bastian Schweinsteiger (@BSchweinsteiger) is a fantastic player, but he won’t be ending his career with us.”

Linked with a January move to Borussia-Park, the former Bayern Munich man’s future with the Red Devils has looked bleak since being banished to the reserve team by Jose Mourinho prior to the season’s opening, and has been named in a matchday squad on just three occasions in 2016-17.
Despite this, United manager Jose Mourinho insists the 32-year-old could remain at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future.
“I do [expect him to stay],” Mourinho said earlier this week. “Unless again, the player knocks on our door with a future that he wants to grab with both hands.”
Schweinsteiger has made 18 Premier League appearances since signing from Manchester United in 2015, and has worked his way back into the plans of Mourinho, who went back on his earlier decision to freeze the German midfielder out of the squad.
