Shanghai SIPG midfielder Oscar has told CCTV-5 he would be “delighted” to see Diego Costa join him in China, even though it could be with another club.
Reports over the past few months have suggested Costa is in line to make a move to Tianjin Quanjian at the end of the season, with club owner Shu Yuhui, not shying away from the fact that his club wants to sign some of world football’s biggest names.
But while Oscar says he could not “give specific advice” to Costa, he hinted a possible reunion with Costa would be special.
“If he moves here, I will be delighted,” he said.
“The only thing I can tell him is that I quite enjoy my life in China. I don’t have any problems so far.
“The culture here is obviously very different from that of my country, but we are getting used to it, bit by bit.
“Everyone has got to figure out the things he wants most. And I believe coming to China is the best choice for me.”
Since making the move to China in the January transfer window, Oscar has failed to make a major impact having scored just one goal and provided three assists across his nine league appearances.
