Reports: Fringe Socceroo, Premier League youngster join Aussie transfer list


A number of Australian players have made moves to all corners of the globe since Wednesday. reported on Thursday that six-times capped Socceroo Ben Halloran has opted to move to Adelaide United in favour of a move to Sydney FC.

The winger, 26, seemed close to joining the Sky Blues but has since chosen to move to United.

Formerly of Gold Coast United, Halloran made the move from Germany to Japan earlier this year, but he played just five games and left V-Varen Nagasaki.

According to SBS The World Game, Burnley youngster Aiden O’Neill is nearing a move to Central Coast Mariners.

The 20-year-old, who has played three games for Burnley’s first team, is in line to be Mike Mulvey’s next acquisition.

He spent parts of last season out on loan in England’s lower leagues with Oldham Athletic and Fleetwood Town.

Bernie Ibini has moved from MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps to UAE side Emirates.

Ibini jetted off to the Middle-East after a year in Canada.

According to once more, Ibini was close to returning to former club Central Coast Mariners before a late bid from Emirates arrived.

Daniel Arzani and Brad Smith also completed transfers from their respective clubs.

Arzani was confirmed as a Manchester City signing on Thursday, and is due to head north to Celtic on a two-year loan deal.

According to Brendan Rodgers, that deal will be completed in “the next few days”.

Smith, meanwhile, has joined Seattle Sounders on loan from AFC Bournemouth for the season.
