Manchester United’s pursuit of Leicester City defender Harry Maguire has hit a hurdle despite the player being keen on a move to Old Trafford. The Mirror reports that the English international will not force a move away from the Foxes, who are reluctant to sell.

While one defender may arrive at the club, another could leave with Matteo Darmian attracting interest from Napoli. The Manchester Evening News claims that the Serie A club are keen on a loan move with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Everton are desperate to keep hold of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford this summer, with last summer’s arrival continuing to attract interest from Chelsea. The Times is reporting that the Toffees will offer the former Sunderland man a new deal in a bid to ward off interest.

Chelsea could also be looking to add to their defensive stocks if reports from Corriere dello Sera are to be believed. Their report claims the Blues are ready to target Juventus defender Mattia Caldara.

Newcastle United look set to bolster their attacking talent with the imminent departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic to Fulham. Sky Sports has claimed the Magpies have entered negotiations with West Brom over a potential deal for Salomon Rondon.

While another report from Sky Sports claims that Fulham are closing in on another defensive signing, with Alfie Mawson set to arrive from Swansea City in the coming days.

Across in Germany, RTBF is reporting that Belgian international Axel Witsel is set to undergo a medical with Borussia Dortmund ahead of a return to Europe from China.
